Proud Mamma, Proud Pappa

My memory card reader on this computer is not working for some reason. So this post will have to be without pictures till my dear sweet hubby can help me.

Raul is on a Jr. Jazz team this year; he had his first game this last Tuesday. Let me tell you, I now know what people mean when they say they were "bursting with pride!" Our RoRo may be compact in size but he commands a basketball court. I am sure a lot of you are thinking "You are suppose to say that. You are his mother." I get that I might be biased, but seriously, he was awesome!!! He made 6 baskets!!! Can you believe that? My sweet little 7 year old made 6 baskets! He made the most baskets out of everyone, both teams included. They don't keep score when they are this young; but you know I paid attention to how many points my kid racked up! There was only one other boy, who was on the opposing team, who was as great as Ro. He was also almost a foot taller, (or so it seemed) and that kid only made 5 baskets. It was so much fun to watch all the kids. Some of them are so dang cute and try so dang hard. You had to be happy for all of them. But I won't lie to you, and I get that I am probably being prideful, but I loved being the mom that the other mom's came up to and raved about how great a player Ro was. That was a great feeling. I am really proud of him. When I tucked him in that night, I told him I was so proud of him; but I would have been just as proud if he hadn't made any baskets at all. I just knew being a mom would be fun.... I was right!

It's an awesome thing when your kids find something they like and then do great at it.

Great job Raul!!! Good Luck on your next game.

You're so lucky...I am still living in fear that when my kids start sports they will be not-so-good. That will be really hard on us! :)

Go Raul! You're a star!

That's awesome. So, there is hope still for my "little" guy to be good at his daddy's sport of choice. :)

That is AWESOME!! I have to admit, I love that feeling too! I remember Raul and Lex playing with the basketball thing and at Naunie and Grandpa's, he was awesome! And he is so far the only other child to make Lex competitive! I wish we lived by e each other, I wish Lex would play bball! I love it and he is really good but refuses to play! Turd! Tell RoRo he rocks from Aunt Emo!~

Hey Brett and Angie,
That is so crazy Steven is Angies cousin. In a round about way, Liz and I consider ourselves cousins. We were at Ricks together and then found out her Uncle is married to my aunt. I don't know if you remember my dad's sister Nancy or not. But her husband Glen is Liz's uncle. So I guess we are cousins by marriage?? ;-) Yay I love how we all end up being related some how.
