(I told you I would post this shortly. Hah! I was right, you were wrong. Wait! Don't go....I was just teasing you. I'm sorry.)
Can she really be six?!?!
So this is the year of the friend birthday parties. All of the planets have aligned just right, so my dear sweet stinkers can have friend birthday parties. Jackie is pretty lucky to be the first birthday of the new year. I was pretty stressed out planning my first friend birthday party; but over all it was a success.
On her actual birthday we had family over for dinner. It was a lot fun to have us all together. I think Jackie got a little overwhelmed with all of the attention though.
(she must have gotten over it because this week she seems dissapointed that she is not the center of anything)
Here she is on her birthday. I don't know if you can see the banner very well but I made that for her. It took me a lot longer than I thought it would though. I was up until 3 am the night before her birthday trying to finish it. It turned out super cute and I am pretty proud of it.
(So proud, apparently, that I have not taken it down yet.)
Here she is helping to make her cake.
Chocolate of course.
Here is the finished product. I make the crown on her cake as well.
Is it a big surprise that she wanted a princess party? No? I didn't think so.
A closer look at the crown.
I thank the Pioneer Woman for helping me make the crown. Yes, the crown, not the cake.
I won $250 dollars from one of her contests. It allowed me to purchase a Silhouette Digital Cutter. It is crazy cool. I used if for the birthday banner, the invitations, the cupcake holders and the above crown.
If you want you can come over and play with it I'll let ya!
All set and ready to go!
Yummy treats for the party.
They played "Stick the Crown on Princess Jackie".
They decorated thier own tiara's.
Then they got all dressed up and we took pictures of them.
While we printed the pictures, they decorated picture frames.
Here is the birthday girl having a mid party snack.
I made Shirley Temples to drink, but I called it Princess Punch.
One little girl kept saying "This princess punch is soooo good! Can I have some more?"
She was bouncing of the walls by the end of the party. I am sure her parents were cursing my name.
hee hee
They also decorated cupcakes that they took home.
My mother-in-law made them adorable aprons to wear while they decoated the cupcakes.
They were able to take those home as well. She also made the bags for the goodie bags.
Brett's Aunt Cathy donated some cute flower barrettes.
We needed some time fillers so we put on some princess music and they all danced.
At the end the girls watched the 12 Dancing Princesses as they waited for their parents.
It was pretty crazy having 10 little girls princesses in our house at once; but it was a lot of fun too.
I still can't believe she is 6 though!

What an awesome party! And such a cute princess. I have to know WHAT contest you won on Pioneer Woman? I am soo jealous! Happy belated birthday Jackie! (and cute bangs on Ellie, too!)
Looks darling, and like you did a fabulous job putting it all together. Obviously the girls had a grand time, and that's all that matters.
I'm so impressed with your crafty skills, just reading this post makes me want to go work on a project! :) Everything was so cute, how fun to have girls to do cutesy(sp?) stuff for them, I'm a little jealous of that! ;)
Happy Birthday, Jackie! It looks like a great party -- I'm so impressed. And I'm totally taking notes...
Happy Birthday Jackie!! You are a beautiful princess, and you are looking so grown up!! And Angie,I'm jealous of your Silhouette Digital cutter!!! Wish I could come and play with you!!
I can't believe how old your kids are looking. I especially notice it on Jackie! She looks SO grown up, loosing that chubbiness in her face that says she is still a baby...sniff sniff. :)
First of all, she is so adorable. Secondly, I am very envious that you won a Pioneer Woman contest! Love that crown.
