School (House) Rocks! & Monday too!

School started last week. (the crowd cheers!) So I am combining Rock on Mondays with
Rock on School starting!

Happy kids going to school!

Slide show of our morning before the First day of 2nd and 3rd grade!

The night before we had a fashion show. This was always a tradition in my family. Did anyone else do this growing up? It was always my favorite thing. I am not sure Brett was very thrilled. He was the photographer. He was very impatient! Doesn't he know that it takes some time getting the models ready? Full hair and make-up do not take care of themselves! Ok-I didn't do hair and make-up. I might have if Brett hadn't been so darn cranky! (love you babe!)

The first day and the first week were great. They are making new friends and they really like their new teachers. (Shout out to Ms. Harris and Mrs. Jackson)

Ellie has spoken of a little boy who seems to be a trouble maker. It sounds like he might give us some good stories this year; time will tell. I'm guessing I will be working on love and tolerance with Ellie this year. She came home one day last week complaining because a little boy had gotten a bloody nose.

She said: "Mom! It was dee-sguh-sting!" Me: "Um...sweetheart it is not his fault that he got a bloody nose. You need to be nice." Ellie: "But mom, it was all crusty on his nose and it was sick!" Me: "Well I am sure it wasn't any fun for him either. Please just try to be kind ok?" Ellie: "Ok, but it was nasty."

I do love watching my kidlets learn and grow. It is all happening too fast; but I do appreciate watching the miracle that they are.

It is Monday and it is now time to Rock On!

In celebration of school starting I am sharing with you a School House Rock video. I used to love these as a kid. If you want to see more just go to youtube and search school house rock. Enjoy!

My stupid sound isn't working, so the video is no fun (for me). Darn.

We did a fashion show last year, so fun! However, this year we too had a cranky participant, so it was a no go. Who were the cranky pants? Mrs. Budget and Mr. Wallet! Sheesh, what a bunch of whiners!

Oh yeah! Cute hair, cute kids, cute clothes!

Good luck Ro and Ellie! Have a great school year.

(Ellie, I hope no one else gets anymore bloody noses.)

First day of school -- woo hoo! Fun fashion show. The kids look great in their new duds. And as always, the ones behind the scenes who make it all come together (ie. the photographer and stylist) never get in the pictures. Tell them they did a great job and we need to see their smiling faces once in a while.

Good luck at school! Ellie, like Miss Heidi, I hope there are no more bloody noses...

Looks like a fun time at the Allens! I would have loved to see the fashion show! Sounds like a fun idea! The kids are growing so much. I miss you all. This week is kind of a bummer. Packing is for the birds, especially alone! Grandpa will be home on Fri. Love you all! Naunie
