It was Brett's birthday on Saturday and this was an extra special one as it was his first one as a Daddy! The kids and I got up real early and decorated the kitchen and made cards for him. Then we went upstairs to wake up Daddy! We had the loud party horns you blow to make noise. I am pretty sure that was his favorite part! I mean who doesn't like being woken up by loud party noisemakers! We then headed downstairs to open the gifts. Raul got him a book on cd that he can listen to in the car during his long commute to work. Ellie got him him book to read and Jackie got him a bottle holder and a speed-o-meter for his birthday bike. The bike was his main gift. Now we can go bike riding as a family! Then I attempted to make a nice birthday breakfast for all of us. I am hoping that he understands that it is the thought that counts! I burned most of it. I am just not good at cooking more than 1 or 2 things at one time! The eggs and bacon were at least edible. Next year we will be going out for breakfast. We then spent the day goofing off and just having fun as a family. We went to lunch at Bretts favorite place The Old Spaghetti Factory. The next day we went to Bretts parents for dinner and birthday cake. Bryce and Jody were there as well. (his brother and sister-in-law) It was nice time. It is always fun celebrating Brett. I just want to tell him how much I love him!! He is a wonderful husband and father and I am so glad that he finally got to spend a birthday as not only the greatest husband ever but the greatest dad too!! Happy birthday babe! We love you so much!!!
